Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Shoreline
A chopper soaring near a crowded southern California coastline abruptly started spinning out of control, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a cluster of palm groves as spectators looked on.
Recordings shared online capture the chopper beginning to twirl near the beach then falling towards the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a staircase near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
Emergency responders reported five people were rushed to the hospital comprising a pair who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Specifics on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
