Paramount Skydance Set to Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – Update

Paramount Skydance will begin significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 American roles as part of a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August with a value of $8.4bn.

Further global layoffs are anticipated, with the company intending to announce complete information in its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates had indicated the firm aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.

As of December 2024, Paramount employed almost 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not provided a response regarding the report.
